Expo 2020 has been officially postponed by one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and will therefore be held in Dubai from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022.

The Dubai Expo follows Expo 2015 which took place in Milan and had achieved great success, also becoming one of the driving forces behind Milan's new economic growth.

We remember that Dubai was awarded the organization of the new edition with a fairly clear vote, collecting 116 votes against 47 in Russia.

Dubaiit is famous all over the world for luxury and glitz, so all the structures in the city have lived up to their fame. The 163 floors of the tallest skyscraper in the world, the Burj Kalifa, shone with a blue light, as well as the luxurious hotel Burj Al Arab - to be clear, the sail-shaped one - was tinged with blue, the official color ofExpo 2020. The ice cream parlors ofDubaithey have started giving away ice cream cones, shops have launched sales, schools have been closed to make room for celebrations.

TheUnited Arab Emiratesthanked the Milan Expo and Italy which has always officially supported the candidacy ofDubaifor theExpo 2020. If the slogan ofExpo 2015is “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, with the2021 Dubai will focus on technologies seen as interaction between man and machine with the slogan "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future ".The city ofDubaiit is extremely multi-ethnic, in fact it hosts about 200 different nationalities, people with different origins who live and work together. This is the concept underlined by the Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, responsible, among other things, of the Higher Committee for HostingWord Expo 2020. He describes Dubai as a safe, tolerant and open to the world. “That's why we believe Dubai is the ideal city to host the World Expo”.

For Expo 2020, the United Arab Emirates would use the so-called "Fair City", an area of 400 hectares, ready to be developed but without too many connection problems: the site is already home to theDubai World Central, which includes the country's international airport.
