There Campania it is among the most wind-friendly regions of the Peninsula and from this March it can count a new one wind farm all Italian: the maker is Source, an operator from Padua. L'wind power plant is 10 MW and can count on a substation ad high voltage for a total value of 18 million euros.
The new wind farm Campania rises in Ariano Irpino, in the province of Avellino. The large investment was made possible thanks to a Project Finance operation, between Banca Popolare dell’Emilia Romagna S.C., Cassa di Risparmio di Bolzano and Gongolo.
The substation ad high voltage was built on behalf of Terna, at a distance of 6 km fromplant. The substation allows for the networking ofpower produced by the wind. The Ariano Irpino park rises 700 meters above sea level and the winds that blow are able to operate the rotor of 5 wind turbines with a capacity of 2 MW each.
At full capacity, the plant is able to produce over 20 million kilowatt hours per year, clean energy able to meet the needs of around 8,500 families. L'Ariano Irpino wind farm will make a substantial contribution to the battle against climate change by avoiding the emission of 24,000 tons of CO2.
Source, the Paduan operator, when it comes to wind energy, can boast a total installed power in Italy of over 150 MW. Daniele Boscolo Meneguolo, SEO of Sorgent.E, comments on the commissioning of the new one wind farm: "The construction of the Ariano Irpino plant marks on the one hand a precise commitment and a particular attention that Sorgent.e addresses to the possibilities offered by our country and on the other hand the continuation with a diversification of our business areas that allows us to be more and more flexible and ready to meet the requests that come from the market, structuring our offer and expanding our know-how ".
